{"id":308,"date":"2009-06-11T07:21:44","date_gmt":"2009-06-11T11:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yiddishecup.com\/blog\/?p=308"},"modified":"2012-03-26T17:57:47","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T21:57:47","slug":"chez-klez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yiddishecup.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/11\/chez-klez\/","title":{"rendered":"CHEZ KLEZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>I&#8217;ve been in the rag trade for 17 years,<\/strong><\/span> selling Yiddishe Cup T-shirts.\u00a0 Black tees with the band&#8217;s logo superimposed in white.<\/p>\n<p>East Coasters buy the tees just for the look.\u00a0 Yiddishe Cup, the band?\u00a0 <em>Feh<\/em>.\u00a0 The T-shirt?\u00a0 Cool.<\/p>\n<p>The tee is a limited edition.\u00a0 Probably about 750 of them in the world.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t advertise.<\/p>\n<p>You have to be <em>invited <\/em>to wear one.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Sometimes I get a photo from,<\/strong><\/span> say, Mount   St. Helens, Wash., of a man in a Yiddishe Cup T-shirt.\u00a0 I played his wedding.\u00a0 Or a photo of a Missoula,  Mont., man wearing a Yiddishe Cup T-shirt on a cattle ranch.<\/p>\n<p>I give the T-shirts to newlyweds and bar mitzvah moms.\u00a0 Or the bat mitzvah kid, herself, if I think she&#8217;s woman enough to handle the impending peer harassment.<\/p>\n<p>I saw a young man on Coventry Road,  Cleveland Heights, in a Yiddishe Cup T-shirt, with black jeans.
