Nobody in my neighborhood knew <\/strong><\/span>about private tennis lessons.\u00a0 Music lessons, yes. Tennis, no.<\/p>\n Exception: my father, Toby.\u00a0 When I was in high school, Toby got me about 10 tennis lessons at a gentile country club, and suddenly I was one of the best players on my high school team.\u00a0 Yes, we still got clobbered by Shaker Heights and University School, but in our division, the Lake Erie League, we were above average.<\/p>\n That goyish<\/em> club now will accept anybody, and not just for drop-in tennis lessons.\u00a0 Show them the money.<\/p>\n One of my mega-rich buddies says <\/strong><\/span>two Cleveland country clubs still don’t want Jews.\u00a0 Yiddishe Cup plays those clubs.\u00a0 Well, once.\u00a0 We got treated fine there.\u00a0 The upper crust treats help and dogs best.<\/p>\n We get hassled the most at a Jewish club: “Use the kitchen door,” says Kim the Kurva<\/em> (Whore), the manager.\u00a0 Kim (not her real name) doesn’t want musicians near her front door, messing up the view or her valet parking.<\/p>\n Kim’s view might disappear soon.\u00a0 That Jewish club is considering closing and merging with a nearby gentile club.<\/p>\n “Hine Ma Tov” (How Good It is) at the Mistletoe Dance.\u00a0 Yiddishe Cup on the bandstand.\u00a0 We’re ready.
