CALL THE COPS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Constantin Ferrito, <\/strong><\/span>a neighbor, was an usher at the Stadium.\u00a0 Good for him.\u00a0 Not good for us &#8212; the neighborhood kids. \u00a0Mr. Ferritto didn\u2019t allow kids to sneak into the box seats, even though Cleveland Municipal Stadium was usually three-quarters empty.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ferritto\u2019s wife was also\u00a0 hard on us. \u00a0Specifically, she was very sensitive to noise &#8212; except her son\u2019s.\u00a0 Her son, John,\u00a0 played piano a lot.\u00a0 He would not shut up on piano.<\/p>\n<p>I practiced an hour a day on clarinet; John Ferritto was just getting warmed up at an hour.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Another neighbor,<\/strong><\/span> Frankie, practiced a half hour on trumpet and a half hour on piano.\u00a0 His father kept a clock on him. \u00a0Frank\u2019s sister punched the clock for a half hour on piano and a half hour on accordion.<\/p>\n<p>John Ferritto ultimately attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and Yale, and became a conductor.<\/p>\n<p>Right now \u2013- a million decades later \u2013- a neighbor is playing drums a block from me.\u00a0 I might call the cops on him.\u00a0 I\u2019m sick of hearing his drums.
