I lost<\/strong><\/span> my Brooks running hat.\u00a0 I owned two.\u00a0 I lost them both.\u00a0 I bought them at a running store in Ann Arbor, Michigan.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t usually lose things, except hats.\u00a0 (I\u2019m excellent with gloves.)<\/p>\n

I went to Dick\u2019s in Cleveland for a replacement hat and bought an Adidas. It constricted my head.\u00a0 I got minor headaches from the Adidas. \u00a0(Granted, I didn\u2019t give my head much time to adjust.)<\/p>\n

Amazon,<\/strong><\/span> I tried that too.\u00a0 Nothing appropriate.\u00a0 I wanted a long-bill white cap with not much writing on it.\u00a0 eBay had four such \u201cold school\u201d Brooks Infiniti running caps — just like my lost caps.\u00a0 (Not like the trashy Brooks hats of today, with a lot of writing.)<\/p>\n

Thank you, eBay! I bought all four caps. That\u2019s excessive I know.\u00a0 But only if I die soon. (Yiddishe Cup’s drummer, Don Friedman, has 10 pair of black jeans.\u00a0 Steve Jobs had at least 50 black turtleneck shirts.)<\/p>\n

I went back to eBay a couple days later, just to cruise, to see how the world of caps was holding up.\u00a0 There were no \u201cold school\u201d Brooks hats left.\u00a0\u00a0 I had cornered the market!<\/p>\n

My Brooks<\/strong><\/span> hats arrived from Mississippi. Then my wife found my lost cap, which was in the kitchen in a basket.\u00a0 Somebody had put it there.\u00a0 Not me.<\/p>\n

Now I have five “old school” Brooks Infiniti caps.\u00a0 Even better.<\/p>\n
