While waiting in line <\/strong><\/span>at Taco Bell, I tried to unlock the mystery of the restaurant’s warning: “Time Delay\/Time-Lock” safe can not be opened for 10 minutes and up to 18 hours. <\/em><\/p>\n I couldn’t unlock it.<\/em><\/p>\n The other drawback — and a big one — to my West Side T-Bell hangout was the manager locked the restrooms because of vandalism.\u00a0 I had to ask for a key. The manager lost some of my business because of that.\u00a0 Please, can I go<\/em>?\u00a0 I didn’t like repeating first grade.<\/p>\n I was at Taco Bell when the founder, Glen Bell Jr., died.\u00a0 I hadn’t known a Mr. Bell existed until I read his obit. \u00a0A customer broke the news to me — not about Bell’s death — but about the manager not locking the restroom door anymore.\u00a0 In memory of Glen Bell Jr.?\u00a0\u00a0 In the obit, Bell said customer service was paramount.<\/p>\n Hallelujah for the new<\/strong><\/span> open door policy, Brother Bell.<\/p>\n The customer in front of me said, “They finally got smart here.\u00a0 People come in here after hours on the road, and they have to go!”<\/p>\n I frequented\u00a0 T-Bell more often because of the new restroom policy.\u00a0 And I developed a new T-Bell hang-up — a musical one. \u00a0I asked the young cashier to name the horrible song playing.\u00a0 She couldn’t.\u00a0 Name the artist?\u00a0 “It’s satellite,” she said.<\/p>\n Put cilantro on that satellite radio station, hon.\u00a0 Quash the piped-in Lady Gaga music.\u00a0 The customer comes first.
