There is a Jewish club called Hillel\u2019s Angels.\u00a0 Better.<\/p>\n

My friend Ralph Solonitz\u00a0 is the leader of the Vilde Chayas (Wild Animals).\u00a0 I think it\u2019s just him.<\/p>\n

The mayor<\/strong><\/span> of Beachwood, a Jew, belongs to a motorcycle club that hangs out at the Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop.\u00a0 Some of the guys in the mayor’s club ride trikes. That’s not motorcycling, <\/em>that’s day care.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Ralph has long hair, a leather jacket and black boots. He’s a 100% kosher hog (and this blog’s illustrator).<\/p>\n

Ralph\u2019s mother, Bertha, is a big fan of Yiddishe Cup.\u00a0 She follows the band around, or vice versa.\u00a0 I\u00a0 said hi to her at a Holocaust survivors\u2019 luncheon, and she said, \u201cYou know who I am!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, your<\/strong><\/span> son is a great artist!\u201d I said.\u00a0 Maybe that’s why she follows the band around.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Solonitz is from Lithuania.\u00a0 Ralph\u2019s father, Julian, was from Lithuania, as well.\u00a0 Ralph’s father grew up in Vilna, now in Lithuania, though for a long time in Poland.\u00a0 Mr. Solonitz fought in the Polish army (part of the Soviet army) during World War II.<\/p>\n

Maybe Ralph rides his motorcycle and wears the leather gear because he hasn\u2019t liberated anybody lately, like his dad did.\u00a0 Ralph’s father was with the army unit that liberated Majdanek concentration camp.<\/p>\n

Maybe Ralph<\/strong><\/span> has freed somebody and not told me.\u00a0 Ralph should take his motorcycle out to Vrooman Road and liberate the Slovenians in Lake County.<\/p>\n

The Cleveland Jewish News<\/em> periodically runs stories about Jewish motorcycle clubs. It’s an easy story to write.\u00a0 Just name-drop: Shalom n\u2019 Chrome from South Carolina, the HawkChais from Iowa.\u00a0 Harley, Son of David<\/em>\u00a0 is a Canadian documentary that used two tracks from a Yiddishe Cup recording.<\/p>\n

Consider joining the Vilde Chayas.\u00a0 Ralph needs company.\u00a0 And you get this jacket:<\/p>\n
