The groom\u2019s mom told me to stop the music.<\/p>\n
I\u00a0 didn’t. You can\u2019t stop the hora at a wedding; it\u2019s bad luck for the marriage.\u00a0 I said, \u201cTwo more minutes.\u201d\u00a0 She said no, and jumped onto the bandstand and yanked the saxophone from my mouth. Luckily, I wasn\u2019t playing clarinet (different embouchure, more likely to damage my teeth). I said, \u201cDon\u2019t ever do that again!\u201d\u00a0 She was oblivious to me. \u00a0 She frantically dialed her phone for a repairman.<\/p>\n
The tent-repair<\/strong><\/span> crew arrived shortly, and during a break the crew crawled under the tent and put in extra supports.\u00a0 The mom had the band playing only background music.
